Jizosen photographJizosen, another name Uenyu or Jizoyu is surrounded by many Japanese-style inns. It is said that it has been operated since Yoriyasu Otomo dug a bath to install Bodhisattva, a guardian deity of children in the Kamakura period.
From the Edo period downward, it has been maintained by lords for generations and after the Meiji, made a great development as Myoban Hot Spring together with Kannawa, Shibaseki and Kamegawa.The present building was constructed in 1993 with one bath each for men and women. Same as Kusatsu Hot Spring its bactericidal acidic milky white sulfur spring which is effective against the skin diseases attracts people come from afar for bathing.
