Kiyosen Spa

photo:KIYOSEN

Kiyosen is the onsen that had been buried in the medieval period due to a disaster and was rediscovered in the Meiji period. It was called “Shinyu” back then.

It boasted the best facility in Kamegawa during the Taisho period with a takiyu, a sand bath, and an onsen bath on the 1st floor and a resting area with a dining place on the 2nd floor. An enormous bath was built during the reconstruction in the early Showa period and therefore it was called “Senninn-buro” (One Thousand People Bath).

The Kiyosen built in the 40th year of Showa period (1965) had a bath on the 1st floor and a gathering place which the local community committee managed on the 2nd floor.

The complex which was newly reopened in July of the 28th year of Heisei (2016) was built as an onsen with an abundance of hospitality (spirit of omotenashi) and with the intention of welcoming all kinds of guests to enjoy their visit here.

There is a “atsu-yu” (hot bath) and “nuru-yu” (like warm bath) so you can bathe based on your preference. Also, available is a multipurpose toilet and a facility designed for easy usage for individuals in wheel chairs so it is user-friendly for the elder and disabled individuals. A multipurpose hall which caters to diverse usage is available too.

Please have a look at the sections which can be seen designed based on the motif of the shell of a turtle.
