Regarding the COVID-19 Vaccination in Beppu City

Foreign nationals who have resident registration in Beppu City are eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccination.
- For those who have moved to Beppu City from other municipality in Japan:
New Beppu City vaccination vouchers will be issued. Please use them for inoculation.
* Those who moved to Beppu City before January 2022 should come to the Beppu City Vaccine Section Office with proof of vaccination history in the previous municipality.
- For those who have moved directly into Beppu City from overseas:
Please come to the Beppu City Vaccine Section Office with proof of vaccination history overseas.
* Vaccination vouchers will be issued based on the vaccination history of vaccines approved in Japan.
Types of vaccines and vaccination locations currently available in Beppu City
- Pfizer Vaccine for infants (mRNA vaccine targeting the original strain) (Relevant page)
- 6 months to 4 years old of age: primary series (3 doses)
Kono Pediatrics (Regular patients only), Matsui Children’s Clinic, Yada Children’s Clinic
- Pfizer Vaccine for children (mRNA vaccine targeting the original strain)(Relevant page)
- 5-11 years old of age: primary series (2 doses)
- Booster (3rd dose) (Up to 31 March 2023)
*The booster session will start again with Pfizer Omicron BA.4/BA.5-adapted bivalent booster for 5-11 years old (mRNA vaccine targeting the original strain and the BA.4-5 variants) when it is ready.

Mass Vaccination Site (Beppu Arena)
- Pfizer Omicron BA.4/BA.5-adapted bivalent booster (mRNA vaccine targeting the original strain and the BA.4-5 variants)
*The Novavax booster and Pfizer Omicron bivalent booster for 12 years old and above will be conducted up to 7 may 2023.
The Vaccination planned after 8 May 2023

- May-August 2023 (Omicron-adapted bivalent booster) targeting:
- 65 years old and above.
- 5-64 years old and having underlying medical conditions.
- Those who are working at medical institutions, senior citizens’ homes, institutions for disabled people.
- September-December 2023
- 12 years old and above who have finished primary series of vaccination.
Reservations
- Please make a reservation after receiving your vaccination vouchers.
- If other vaccines (except influenza) are to be administered, leave a gap of 2 weeks before and after the vaccination.
- If you wish to cancel your reservation, please be sure to contact the Call Center.

Required documents:
- Application form (PDF)
- A copy of your passport ID page
- A copy of your residence card
- Record of inoculation whith Beppu City vaccination vouchers (If lost, it may take time to issue the certificate).
- If applying by mail, please enclose an envelope (84 yen stamped with your name and address).
